Welcome Break work hard to deliver initiatives that improve energy efficiency, reduce overall energy consumption, and therefore reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our physical estate.

With every refurbishment of existing sites, as well as building of entirely new sites, we make use of design principles and technology that will ensure energy efficiency.

Welcome Break is committed to finding ways of becoming more energy efficient through the following activities:

• Completing retrofit of lighting to LED and PIR technology.
• Replacing and retrofitting equipment with more modern energy efficient alternatives.
• Rolling out of smart energy monitoring.
• Continuing to offer electric vehicles within the fleet.
• Continuing to actively promote and provide training on practical ways of conserving energy to both our team members and third-party stakeholders in the management of our physical estate.
• Growing the EV charging network across our sites.

Additionally, in partnership with our energy supplier, we utilise REGO (Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin) certified green energy.

By utilising smart-meters, we continue to work hard to improve the quality of our energy consumption data across our physical estate. This improvement provides us with more accurate reporting and information on our consumption and, in turn, related greenhouse gas emissions.
