Feedback Survey

Each year, we circulate our team member feedback survey, “Your Say!”.

This feedback survey is our opportunity to understand exactly how our team members feel about working at Welcome Break, so we can continue making changes and improvements to our business. From investing in Mental Health First Aiders, to providing free period products in all team member toilets, we have made some great changes based upon the feedback we have received.

 

Open Communication

We have an open communications platform that is accessible to anyone within the business. Team members can freely share information and content, ask questions, and engage with their colleagues.

 

Welcome Break Conference and Awards Ceremony

Annually, we host our Welcome Break Conference and Awards Ceremony. Leaders and long-service team members from across the business are invited to celebrate the year’s successes and to discuss plans for the future.

At our 2024 Conference, we gave attendees the opportunity to speak to the Welcome Break Board via a Q&A session and work to ensure that such open discussions constitute an element of all of our future conferences.

Reward and Recognition

We recognise the importance of making sure that our teams feel appreciated and are rewarded for doing their jobs well. On every site, in every hotel, and at our Support Office, our teams can nominate a “Team Member of the Month” in recognition of achievements, hard work, performance, kindness, and success within the business.

Additionally, we have implemented a values-based recognition programme where team members, at all levels of the business, can nominate someone in recognition of their demonstration of one of our three values: “We care”, “We are a team”, and “We deliver”. Our recognition committee review these nominations on a quarterly basis and subsequently selects award winners.

Senior leaders and managers are also able to give on-the-spot rewards to team members whilst visiting sites.

In 2024, a “Service Recognition Programme” was also introduced across our sites. Our service recognition programme celebrates and honours the loyalty, dedication, and contribution of all team members who have demonstrated commitment and longevity in working for Welcome Break. It acknowledges their invaluable role in Welcome Break’s success and demonstrates a culture of appreciation and loyalty among our teams.

 

Back to the Floor Day

At Welcome Break, we believe in the power of first-hand experience. This is why, bi-annually, our Support Office team has the opportunity to step back into the heart of the business and serve customers alongside our on-site teams, as part of our “Back to the Floor Day”.

“Back to the Floor Day” gives our Support Office team members an opportunity to connect with customers, understand their needs and the dynamics of our service offer.
