National Lorry Week 2024

The 4th until the 8th of November marks National Lorry Week.
HGV drivers play a vital role not only across the UK, but also internationally. Here at Welcome Break, we have over six million HGV’s visit our sites every year – that’s over 16,000 every day! It is therefore important for us to make sure that drivers are provided with facilities that will ensure the smoothest stop. Whilst we continue to listen to feedback and improve sites for drivers, we are pleased to share some of our newest installations to help enhance the well-being and safety of HGV drivers.
What we're doing at Welcome Break
Over the last year we have invested in new shower blocks, added female showers, improved lighting and installed fencing. Not only that, but we have also put in place remotely monitored CCTV in all our HGV Parks across England.
What we have planned
With 2025 just around the corner, we are excited to be adding outdoor gyms at five sites to help boost driver well-being. In partnership with National Highways, we will be matching their investment of £1.7 million to ensure our ongoing commitment to HGV drivers is met. It is key for us to invest in our facilities and find new ways to improve our rest stops.
