EHAAT provide comprehensive patient care that extends beyond the initial emergency response at the scene of an incident.

Their mission encompasses ongoing support for individuals and families well beyond the critical moments of crisis. We are proud to announce that we have donated a grant from The Welcome Break Charitable Fund, further reinforcing our commitment to delivering invaluable services throughout the region.

Welcome Break South Mimms, situated as the main rest stop on the northern stretch of the M25, recognises the paramount importance of emergency services to its thousands of customers. Aligning with this ethos, the operator’s support will enhance EHAAT’s capacity to provide essential care and assistance to those in need.

The grant will be directed towards the invaluable work of our Patient & Family Liaison Team. Specifically, to support their efforts in aiding younger patients and the children of adult patients. It will fund special EHAAT activity packs tailored for children receiving support from the team.

Alice Kershberg, EHAAT’s Patient & Family Liaison Lead, said: “Sudden injuries and illnesses, which our crews deal with every day, don’t just affect the people directly involved. Family members or friends might have questions, concerns or need extra help.

“My team provides safe, compassionate, and effective support for patients and loved ones, ranging from offering a listening ear to coordinating care and answering questions, keeping every patient and their family informed and supported at every step of the healing process. We stay in touch with patients and their family for as long as they need us, throughout their clinical journey and beyond.”

The packs will enhance patient and family interactions, facilitating discussions and offering children engaging distractions during medical discussions.

Alice explained, “Meeting the needs of children and their families is integral to EHAAT’s mission. The Welcome Break Charitable Fund grant will enable us to include age-appropriate items such as teddy bears, helicopter models, notebooks, and wristbands in our activity packs, fostering a more supportive environment for the families we serve.”
